On August 14, Anime Club honors the legendary all-women manga collective CLAMP with a double feature showcasing two of their most visually striking and thematically rich works.

The first film brings to life CLAMP’s apocalyptic vision of Tokyo on the brink, where psychics battle over the fate of the world. Though the original manga remains unfinished, this adaptation helped launch a sprawling franchise—including a full-length TV anime—that remains a touchstone for fans of end-times storytelling and gorgeously animated chaos.

The second feature is a moody supernatural mystery set in a wish-granting shop, where the lines between reality and the spirit world blur. Adapted from one of CLAMP’s most atmospheric series, it has since spawned OVAs, a full TV run, and even a 2022 live-action interpretation by famed fashion photographer turned filmmaker Mika Ninagawa.

Both films reflect CLAMP’s singular aesthetic and storytelling style—dark, elegant, and impossible to forget.
