—Welcome, Witches—
Your Friend in Witchcraft by Kay Marlow Allen is an epistolary game for two players. As you play and exchange letters, you’ll tell a story about how witches learn, how leaders grow, and how people change.

—Build Memorable Characters—
One player will portray THE NOVICE. You are new to witching, and there is no one nearby who can mentor you. The other player will portray THE EXPERT. You’re an old hand at witching, and you have so much knowledge to pass on.

You'll work together to establish the tone and setting of your game. Then, you'll each choose an Archetype to base your character on, and answer some questions about their personality, home, and community.

—Write Magical Letters—
Gameplay happens asynchronously—you’ll take turns writing letters, rather than sitting down to write at the same time—and is designed to cover at least four letters from each player.

When you write a letter, you can draw on a few sources of inspiration:
• STORY MOMENTS: wider narrative beats for the Novice and the Expert
• EVERYDAY PROMPTS: questions to help you portray moments in your everyday life, prompted by drawing Minor and Major Arcana cards
• ARCANE ACTS: information to help you with the details of acts of magic, inspired by drawing Major Arcana cards
